The only way to get to Skopelos is by ferry but there are plenty of connections, including from the other Sporades (Alonissos, Skiathos, Peristera and Skyros) as well as Volos and Thessaloniki.
How long does it take to get from Alonissos to Skopelos?
The journey between Alonissos and Skopelos takes 20 minutes (or 30 min in some cases)
Is there a high speed ferry between Alonissos and Skopelos ?
Yes, the majority of ferries take only 20 minutes to get between the two ports.
How much does it cost to get from Alonissos to Skopelos by ferry?
The ticket prices always depend on the ferry company, type of ferry and the class you are purchasing tickets for.
On the high speed (20 minutes) ferry expect to pay €8,50 per person for a seat in the economy class. A business class ticket on a high speed ferry costs €10,00 per person. While if you want a VIP seat expect to pay €11,50 per person on the same type of ferry.
How many ferries per day depart from Alonissos to Skopelos during the low season?
During the low season 2010, the following ferries are available between Alonissos and Skopelos:
- daily at 6:45 a.m.
- Mon, Thu, Sun at 2:30 p.m.
- Fri at 1:45 p.m.
How many ferries per day depart from Alonissos to Skopelos during the high season?
The high season runs between mid June and late October and although the Ministry of Mercantile Marine makes the schedule public around April 15 each year.
The following ferries are available between Alonissos and Skopelos during the high season:
- at 6:00 a.m., daily (15 min)
- at 6:15 a.m., Tue to Fri (20 min)
- at 1:20 p.m., on Tue
- at 1:25 p.m., on Tue, Thu& Sat
- at 3:00 p.m., on Sat
- at 3:15 pm., on Mon to Thu (20 min)
- at 4:00 p.m. , daily except on Tue (15 min)
- at 4:05 p.m., daily (25 min)
- at 6:00 p.m., daily except on Sat (25 min)
During the low season 2010, the following ferries are available between Skopelos and Alonissos:
- daily at 5:10 p.m.
- Mon, Thu, Sun at 1:30 p.m.
- Wed at 1 p.m.
Are there any overnight journeys between Alonissos and Skopelos ?
No.
Where can I buy tickets from?
Ideally you should buy the ticket either from a travel agency or from the port but the tickets can be bought online as well. However, restrictions apply when you buy them online (you cannot purchases tickets for months ahead).

Important note:
It is a good idea to double check the schedule couple of days before departure. The ferry companies submit their schedule every Friday to the Ministry of Mercantile Marine which means there might be slight differences from week to week, let along from month to month.
