Nightlife

When you visit Greece, it might not be just about archaeological sites and museums. Greece has a vibrant nightlife scene that rivals anywhere in Europe.

So, where should you head to if partying all (day and) night long is on your vacation’s to do list?

Athens

Athens’ nightlife is diverse, spanning city-center bars, rooftop terraces with Acropolis views, and lively courtyards in neighborhoods like Monastiraki, Psyrri, Plaka, Koukaki, and Keramikos

Gazi is Athens’ go-to district for dancing and big clubs. It’s an old gas factory turned nightlife hub, the loudest and most club-oriented part of the city. Things start heating up after midnight.

During summer, the Athenian Riviera (Paraliaki) transforms into the ultimate nightlife destination with beach clubs in areas like Alimos, Voula, Vouliagmeni, and Elliniko. Most beach clubs open in the afternoon for cocktails and dinner, transforming into dance clubs from 11 PM until sunrise

Popular spots include Island Athens Riviera, Akanthus Summer Club, Mind The Gap Summer, Bolivar Beach Bar, and Cape Sol Club.

In the city center, Six d.o.g.s is Athens’ top spot for underground techno and electronic beats. For bigger superclub vibes, check out Pixi or DYBBUK.

Corfu

Corfu is beach resort heaven, packed with young foreigners. The famous nightclubs sit outside Corfu Town in resorts like Dassia, Gouvia, Kavos, Roda, and Ypsos. In Corfu Town itself, you’ll find plenty of great bars and clubs for dancing and fun.

Mykonos

Mykonos’ nightlife is iconic. In fact, the island invented the Cyclades party scene. Year-round, the island fills with crowds partying through narrow streets, looking for clubs where famous DJs keep the energy high.

The main gay bars are clustered together in Chora (Mykonos Town): Jackie O’ Town Bar, Cosma Bar, Porta, and Lola. Note that the iconic Babylon gay bar has closed.

Jackie O’ Town Bar by the Old Port is the heart of gay Mykonos. In summer, crowds gather from sunset till early hours, getting really busy from 11 PM onwards when the street outside becomes the beating heart of gay Mykonos

Every August, XLSIOR, one of the world’s biggest international gay summer dance festivals, takes over Mykonos for a week . XLSIOR 2026 runs August 20-25. Parties feature international DJ talent, jaw-dropping dancers, sensational shows, and cutting-edge productions at various beach clubs around the island.

The gay-friendly beaches: Elia Beach and Super Paradise are where most of the guys you met at Jackie O’ the night before end up during the day.

For everyone else, Mykonos still delivers. The island attracts Germans, Italians, English, French, all looking for a good time. Summer (June-August) is peak season. Parties don’t start until after 11 PM, so pace yourself.

Rhodes

Rhodes Town nightlife offers variety: the historic Old Town comes alive with dimly lit wine bars, traditional tavernas, and lively open-air cafés tucked into medieval alleys.

For dancing, Orfanidou Street (often called “Bar Street”) is the island’s top party strip, with clubs like Colorado Club attracting international DJs and a youthful crowd.

Faliraki is where the liveliest nightlife in Rhodes happens, extremely popular mainly among 18-30-year-olds, many British, ready to party until late. Most people head to Bar Street for drinks before switching to Club Street around 1 AM for the best clubs.

If you’re looking for romantic nightlife with elegance, Lindos is a must—the illuminated Lindos Acropolis creates a stunning backdrop for rooftop bars and fine dining.

Skiathos

Skiathos is the island of young partying crowds. During high season, the clubs are packed. Lots of clubs, good music, and fun.

Party Islands

During summer, certain islands transform into 24-hour party zones: Ios, Mykonos, Paros, and Santorini. Streets jam with crowds looking for clubs and bars open until morning.

General Info

Bars and cafes across Greece stay open late. Music ranges from traditional Greek to international trance, pop, jazz, and alternative rock. Nightclubs typically stay open until 6 or 7 AM.

Remember: Greek nightlife starts late. If you show up at 9 PM, you’ll be the only one there. Things heat up around midnight.
