Upon checking the updated schedule for 2019, this direct route was not found on booking sites or schedule sites.

However, there is still a way to get between Thessaloniki and Rhodes only by ferry. You need to make a stop in Syros.

Or you can travel to Athens (Piraeus) by train or bus and then take the ferry from Athens to Rhodes.

Thessaloniki‘s port dates from ancient times and currently the following destinations are covered: North-Eastern Aegean Islands, Dodecanese Islands, Samos, Cycladic Islands, Crete and North Sporades.

Rhodes , part of the Dodecanese Islands , is connected to Thessaloniki by ferry. Although the ferry ride is long, the prices are affordable and there’s something quite romantic about traveling by water.

Rhodes or Rodos?

When you are looking up ferries between the mainland and island you are actually looking for ferries between two ports. So while the English speaking world uses “Rhodes” to name the island, you’ll find the port called Rodos (sometimes also spelled as Rhodos). The port code is ROD.

How long does it take to get from Thessaloniki to Rhodes?

It takes 25 hours to get from Thessaloniki to Rhode by regular ferry.

Is there a high speed ferry between Thessaloniki and Rhodes?

No.

How much does it cost to get from Thessaloniki to Rhodes by ferry?

An economy class ticket costs €57 per person, one way. If you want to sit in an airplane-type of seat, it costs €61 per person, one way. The prices for the 2 berth and 4 berth cabins are not available.

Special offers are available on the company’s website , including the price of €20 for an economy seat to all Dodecanese Islands (with several restrictions). Children up to 4 years old travel for free and children between 4 and 10 years old get a 50% discount.

How many ferries per day depart from Thessaloniki to Rhodes during the low season?

The ferries stop connecting the two ports by end of September but resume the schedule in spring.

How many ferries per day depart from Thessaloniki to Rhodes during the high season?

There’s a single ferry connecting the two ports during the 2010 high season. It departs on Friday at 8 p.m. and runs between June 4 and September 24.

Are there any overnight journeys between Thessaloniki and Rhodes?

Yes, the only ferry is an overnight ferry.

How about the ferries from Rhodes to Thessaloniki?

There’s only one ferry connecting Rhodes to Thessaloniki during the 2010 high season. It departs on Thursday at 5:01 p.m. and runs between June 3 and September 23.

Important note:

The ferry companies submit their schedule weekly to the Ministry of Mercantile Marine so make sure to double check the schedule before departing as there might be some changes from week to week (let alone from month to month).
