Mamma Mia! The Movie fans already have Skopelos on their vacations plans but you really don’t need a reason to visit this beautiful island. There are 360 churches and chapels to visit and there are also lovely beaches to check out, including Kastani Beach where some movie scenes were shot.

The only way to get to Skopelos is by ferry but there are plenty of connections, including from the other Sporades (Alonissos, Skiathos, Peristera and Skyros) as well as Volos and Thessaloniki.

Skopelos or Glossa ?

Both! Actually Loutraki is the port of Glossa and where your ferry will arrive but don’t expect to find Loutraki on the ticket. On line booking sites and for the ferry operators, the port is called Glossa , just like the village above. Glossa is located on the northwestern side of the island.

Skopelos is the capital and main port on the island of Skopelos. It is located on the southern side of the island.

How long does it take to get from Alonissos to Skopelos?

The journey between Alonissos and Skopelos takes 20 minutes (or 30 min in some cases). The journey to Glossa takes between 1h and 1h 30 min.
