Paros is another popular tourist island of the Cyclades . While Santorini and Mykonos are by far the most popular among tourists, Paros is right there with them, offering tourists a lot of things to do. If your plans take you to Santorini, you can easily plan a day trip to Paros even if you want to relax on the beach or try the local tavernas.

Santorini or Thira?

In many cases, the name of the island doesn’t match the name of the port(s). Santorini makes no exception, and in many cases you’ll find “Thira (Santorini)” or the port code ATI in the ferry schedules and on online booking sites.

How long does it take to get from Santorini to Paros?

The ferry journey between Santorini and Paros takes between 1 h 45 min and 3 h 10 min, depending on the type of vessel and company.

Is there a high speed ferry between Santorini and Paros?

Yes.

How much does it cost to get from Santorini to Paros by ferry?

The price depends on the type of seat you book and the type of ferry.

On the high speed ferry run my Hellenic Seaways (1h 45 min), the economy non smoking seat costs €36 per person, one way, while the business non smoking seat costs €43 per person, one way.

On the regular ferry, the economy class ticket costs €16.50 per person, one way.

How many ferries per day depart from Santorini to Paros during the low season?

There’s a ferry linking Santorini to Paros year round. It departs at 8:30 a.m. on Wed and Sun. The ferry is run by NEL-Lesvos Maritime.

How many ferries per day depart from Santorini to Paros during the high season?

The following ferries are available between Santorini and Paros during the high season:

  • at 8:30 a.m., Wed & Sun (year round)
  • at 11:50 a.m. , daily except on Wed, until Sept 6 (runs on Wed only during July)
  • at 4 p.m., daily, from June 13 to Sept 13


Are there any overnight journeys between Santorini and Paros?

No.

Where can I buy tickets from?

Tickets can be bought from the online booking websites, from the ferry companies’ websites as well as from the ports. Another alternative is to buy via a travel agent.

Does everyone charge the same prices?

The prices are exactly the same, whether you buy them online, via a travel agent or directly from the ticketing office in the port.

How about the ferries from Paros to Santorini?

During the high season there are the following ferries connecting Paros to Santorini:

  • at 12:10 p.m., daily from June 13 to Sept 13
  • at 1:30 p.m., Tue & Sat, year round
  • at 2:05 p.m., Thu, June 25 to Sept 10
  • at 3:45 p.m., daily except on Wed, until Sept 6 (on Wed only during July)


Important note:

If the schedule hasn’t been made public yet for a route, you won’t be able to find or book a ferry for that route but you can enquire the ferry company about it. Also, the ferry companies update their schedule weekly so there might be changes from week to week.
