If you have seen (or even just heard about) Mamma Mia! The movie you already know how beautiful Skiathos island is. By far, Skiathos is the most famous island of the Sporades. There are direct ferry links with the other Sporades, as well as Volos. But there isn’t any ferry link to Athens (Piraeus)

How long does it take to get from Alonissos to Skiathos?

The journey between Alonissos and Skiathos takes between 45 min and 2 h 30 min, depending on the type of ferry you are taking.

Is there a high speed ferry between Alonissos and Skiathos?

Yes, there are several high speed ferries (45 min) operating between the two ports starting with mid June.

How much does it cost to get from Alonissos to Skiathos by ferry?

The ticket depends on the company, type of seat and type of ferry.

The ticket price on the high speed ferries is not yet available because the schedule hasn’t yet been approved.

On a regular passengers ferry which takes 1h 25 min to get between Alonissos and Skiathos, expect to pay €16,00 per person, one way, for an economy class seat. On a slower passenger ferry (2 h 15 min) expect to pay €9,50 per person, one way on the deck or €19,00 per person, one way for a class A seat.

Where can I buy tickets from?

You can buy ferry tickets online but there are certain limitations especially related to how far in advance you can purchase. Also, some connections don’t show up on the online booking sites. There’s also the possibility to book via a travel agent. But it’s best to get the tickets directly from the port.

Does everyone charge the same prices?

The prices are the same, regardless of where you purchase them from.

Important note:

It’s always advisable to double check the schedule couple of weeks before departure. The ferry companies submit their schedule weekly so changes might occur from week to week, let alone from month to month.
