Paros

paros-noussaParos is a Greek island in the Cyclades group . It is a very popular vacation destination among locals and foreigners. The beautiful beaches, the charming villages and the interesting things to see, make a vacation in Paros a very good idea.

How to get to Paros

The island is located centrally in the Cyclades, between Naxos , Ios, Sifnos and Syros. Most of the ferries to Naxos and Santorini make a stop in Paros, which makes the island easily accessible for tourists. Ferries connect the island to the Greek mainland and to the other islands.

There’s also the possibility to fly from Athens to Paros. The flight takes about 40 min and is offered by Olympic Air. One way fares start at €86 per person.

Weather

Paros, just like the other Cyclades, is blessed with Mediterranean weather. The winters are mild and rather wet and the summers are nice, cooled down by the Meltemi winds. In July the average high temperature is 27C while the average low is 22C.

What to do

Paros is dotted with charming villages. Naoussa is an old fishing village turned into a cosmopolitan holiday destination, with a beautiful Venetian port and many restaurants specialized in sea food.

One of the most beautiful tourist places on the island is Panagia Ekatontapiliani, the church of 100 doors. According to legend, the original church was built by St. Helen, mother of St. Constantine.

If you travel with the kids, take then to Aqua Park. Boats leave from Noussa every 15 min.

Beaches

Paros is considered one of the most beautiful islands in the Cyclades and boasts some amazing beaches. Martselo & Krios are located opposite the Parikia harbor and offers crystal clear water and white sand. Piperi Beach is Naoussa’s main in-town-beach and offers incredible views of the town. Monastiri Beach near Naoussa is an official beach for nude sunbathing.
