Crete is usually not the first place that comes to mind in choosing a Greek honeymoon destination, but we’re so glad we spent some time there as newlyweds in summer 2015… because we fell in love with it. We hiked the Samargia Gorge, indulged in Cretan cuisine, explored the old villages of Chania and Agia Roumeli, and took daily sunset strolls along the Old Venetian Harbour. We also discovered our favourite beach in the world! On the southwestern corner of Crete lies Elafonissi, an island that connects to the mainland with sparkling clear turquoise waters on every side. It is also here that we saw pink sand for the first time!
