Today, July 25, at 6:20 AM local time, a strong earthquake hit the Greek island of Rhodes. A woman died as she tripped and hit her head when trying to leaver her house. No other injuries or damages have been reported.

The Athens Geodynamic Institute said had a preliminary magnitude of 6.3 and it hit at 70 km south of the island in the Aegean sea, about 442.5 km southeast of Athens. The earthquake was also felt on the Islands of Santorini and Crete. The earthquake spread panic among locals and tourists.

Greece is one of the most seismically active areas in the world but thankfully most of the earthquakes do not cause damages or injuries.
