Paros Beaches

paros-beachAs all Cyclades Islands, Paros has very nice beaches. Located close to Naxos, the island is the perfect location for those who like to soak in the sun but avoid the crowds in Santorini or Mykonos. Considered one of the most beautiful island of the Cyclades, Paros has lovely beaches – some crowded, some hidden -, charming traditional Greek villages, is a great location to practice windsurfing and you can visit a lot of interesting places.

Best beaches in Paros

Martselo & Krios

The beaches are located opposite the Parikia harbor. Here you can listen to music, enjoy the Greek cuisine, try some ice-cream or play beach volley. The water is crystal clear and the sand is white, not to mention you get to see nice views of the Parikia town and harbor. The beach is easily accessible from Parikia by taxi (about 5-10 minutes).

Livadia

It is Parikia’s main beach. The beach is divided into several sections which stretch all around the bay. The beach is located near some shops, restaurants and bars.

Kalakonas

This is a small, tranquil beach visited usually by locals and the best place to escape the crowds.

Piperi Beach

It is Naoussa’s main in-town-beach and is located at about 250 m/820 ft from the town’s fishing port. It’s a nice place to swim and to enjoy beautiful views the town and the bay.

Kolimbithres

This is one of the most popular beaches in Paros located on the opposite side of the Naoussa Bay. The impressive rocks formations divide the beach into lovely sections which allow to you find an intimate place to stay. However, during high season the beach is really crowded. There are chairs and umbrellas available, but you can also find some nice shaded areas to relax and escape the sun. There are also beach bars and taverns. The beach is popular for the water sports, especially waterskiing.

Molos

The beach is located near the small village of Marmara. It is hardly visited and is the best place if you are looking for a hidden and tranquil beach. However, the water is deep so make sure you know how to swim before venturing in the water. It’s a great place to enjoy the views of the neighbor island, Naxos. The beach is ideal for wind surfing.

Parasporos

It is a big beach located in the south-east part of Parikia. There is a campsite and a beach bar at the north end. The beach is sandy but the water is deep so make sure you know how to swim before venturing in the waters.

Nude beach

For those who are looking for nude bathing, there is Monastiri Beach near Naoussa, known to be the official beach for nude bathing. The beach is very crowded during the high season (July and August). It is located at the end of the bay. Overlooking the beach there are some lovely places to enjoy the cuisine or just soak up the atmosphere: a taverna and a music bar. During the summer the area is famous for the concerts and public beach parties.

Other beaches

Other popular beaches include Santa Maria Beach – located on the north-east tip of the island -, Golden Beach – located in the south-east part of the island famous among windsurfers-, Pounda – one of the most famous beaches in Paros, similar to Paradise Beach in Mykonos- and Agia Irini.
