- Adrian Smith (Iron Maiden) asks fans to help trace a missing guitar . The instrument was stolen during a show in Athens on Saturday night.
- The fires don’t seem to give the Greeks a break . A new fire broke out on Thursday morning in a forest region in Kamari and fires are also burning in Thasos.
- Yet another earthquake hit Greece on Sunday, Aug 3 . This time it struck in the northern Aegean Sea, about 87 miles southeast of Thessaloniki and had 5.3 magnitude. No one was hurt and there were no damages.
- If there’s one thing I totally love Greece for, it’s this: pretty much anytime they start digging or searching for something, they end up finding really old and important things. This time it was a mummy of a middle-aged woman dating from the era when Romans ruled here .
- While the rest of the world complains that vacations are expensive in Greece, Bulgarians come here for vacation. According to this article , the number of Bulgarians spending their vacations in Greece increased by 117% compared to last year.
- And if you are in Western Europe, hurry up to benefit from this offer in October. According to Telegraph, Thomson Holidays offers self-catering accommodation in Greece for only £14 a week (that’s about €18). - In case you ever doubted, according to a survey by Time & Leisure , Greece has some of the Europe’s and World’s best hotels. Two hotels in Athens - Grande Bretagne and King George Palace – ranked among the top 50 hotels in Europe.
- According to this article Greece started a campaign aimed at stopping bars from serving tourists alcoholic cocktails which can contain dangerous-and potentially deadly-industrial spirits.
