The Gavdos to Crete ferry schedule is available at the bottom of the article.

Gavdos is the southernmost Greek island and the southernmost point in Europe. The tiny island is home to only about 50 inhabitants year round. There aren’t any hotels although there are limited numbers of rooms for rent. However, you might end up camping right on the beach.

Gavdos is located to the south of Crete and the only way to get to Gavdos is on ferry.

Crete, Paleohora Agia Roumeli or Sougia?

The ferries to Gavdos depart from three different ports: Paleohora (also spelled “Paleochora”), Agia Roumeli and Sougia.

How long does it take to get from Crete to Gavdos?

The ferry between Paleochora and Gavdos takes 4 h while the ferry from Sougia takes 3h 20 min and the ferry from Agia Roumeli takes 2h 20 min.

Is there a high speed ferry between Crete and Gavdos?

No.

How much does it cost to get from Crete to Gavdos by ferry?

The price depends on the port you depart from. From Agia Roumeli , the single fare is €15 (adult) , from Paleochora it’s €17 and from Sougia costs €16.

How many ferries per day depart from Crete to Gavdos ?

Starting with early May, there are two ferries per week from each port connecting the two islands, until end of October:

  • from Paleochora: Mon, Wed, 8;30 a.m., May 2 to Oct 31
  • from Sougia: Mon, Wed, 9:20 a.m., May 2 to Oct 31
  • from Agia Roumeli: Mon, Wed, 10:10 a.m., May 2 to Oct 31

Are there any overnight journeys between Crete and Gavdos ?

No.

How about the ferries from Gavdos to Crete ?

On the way back, the ferries also run twice per week, to each of the three ports on Crete, starting from early May to late October:

  • to Agia Roumeli: Mon, Wed, 1 p.m, May 2 to Oct 31
  • to Sougia: Mon, Wed, 1 p.m. May 2 to Oct 31
  • to Paleochora: Mon, Wed, 1 p.m. May 2 to Oct 31

Where can I buy tickets from?

Unfortunately, you won’t be able to book these tickets on the major online booking websites. However, you can reserve them on the Anendyk Ferry Line official website. Also, tickets can be bought from the port.

Does everyone charge the same prices?

The prices are the same on the company’s website and in the port.
