Flights to Mykonos

Mykonos is Greeceā€™s party island, rivaling only Ibiza and Rimini. During the summer months, Mykonos is flooded with tourists looking to dance the night away, soak in the sun and walk on the beautiful island admiring the windmills and playing with Petros, the pelican.

Airport and Airlines

Mykonos National Airport (JMK) is located just 4 km/2.5 miles from the town of Mykonos. You can get to the city either by taxi or by public bus. Most hotels also offer shuttle services but you need to check with them when you book your room.

Mykonos receives regular flights both from Athens and Thessaloniki. The local airlines Olympic Airlines, Aegean Airlines and AirSea Lines (sea plane) all offer regular flights into Mykonos.

During summer many European airlines offer direct flights to Mykonos. XL offers flights from London into Mykonos every Friday starting from mid-May until the end of September/early October.

Tips to get a cheap ticket to Mykonos

July and August are peak months in Mykonos when all the prices are at their highest, including airfare. If you want to visit the island now, make sure to book well in advance.

If you have a bit of flexibility, you can visit the island during the shoulder season: May and September. The weather is nice enough to swim and sunbathe and the prices are lower.

If you prefer to book via a travel agent, make sure to ask if they can offer a flight via a charter airline.
