Located near the Turkish coast, Kos is part of the Dodecanese islands . It is the second most popular tourist destination (after Rhodes ) and is located between Kalymnos and Nysiros.

A very romantic and cheap way to get to Kos is by ferry. There are links to many Greek islands, including Santorini .

Santorini or Thira?

When you look up the ferries between two islands, you are actually looking for ferries between two ports. And in some cases, the name of the island isn’t the same as the name of the port. Santorini makes no exception, so look for Thira (Santorini) or the port code ATI.

125x125There are several ways to get tickets: online , from the ferry companies’ website, from Greek travel agencies and directly from the port. Do remember that if you plan to travel during the high season (July & August), make sure to buy the tickets several days in advance.

Does everyone charge the same prices?

Yes, the prices are the same regardless of where you buy the tickets from.

Important note:

Please not that the ferry companies submit their schedules every Friday to the Ministry of Mercantile Marine and in some cases the schedules for July & August become available on online booking sites only several days before the vessels start operating on that route.
