Thessaloniki is a vibrant city, with an atmosphere totally different than the capital. With only one hostel in the city, many travelers struggle to find the best options for a cheap and clean place to stay. With that in mind, we’ve put together a list of the best hotels in Thessaloniki for under €100 per night …and also an exception to the rule.
Hotel Orestias Castorias
This small family run hotel is located close to all the important sites in Thessaloniki. There are 37 rooms available, all offering incredible views. All rooms have AC, TV, phone, private shower and bath. There’s internet available on request. During the high season a double room costs €49 per night.

Nea Metropolis
The beautiful hotel offers only 35 rooms (20 of them have AC). There’s central heating, phone, TV and private bath in each room. There’s a restaurant-bar on site and guests can eat the continental breakfast each morning. Internet services are available on request. Off-season rates start at €42 per night per room and during the high season a double room costs €50.50 per night.

Hotel Tourist
Located in a historical building and renovated in 2003, the hotel offers 37 rooms, all equipped with AC, TV, fridge and phone. Internet is available on request. There aren’t any prices available on the site but the reservation system list the hotel at an average of €60 per night per room, year round.

Rotonda Hotel
The hotel is located right in the city center, close to the Central Railway Station. There are 80 rooms available, all with AC, TV, phone, fridge and balcony. The buffet breakfast is included in the room price. The website doesn’t list the prices but on the online booking systems you can book rooms at an average price of €62 per night per room, on average.

And the exception to the rule….
Hotel Astoria
Astoria is quite expensive especially during the summer but we couldn’t resist listing it here. The hotel is located right in the center of the city and is ideal for the business traveler. Credit cards are accepted, which is a nice facility since the majority of budget hotels do not allow the use of credit cards. The rooms have private bath, hairdryer, AC, mini bar, TV, balcony and safe. The hotel offers conference rooms, restaurant and bar. During the high season expect to pay at least €150 per double room per night, breakfast included. It’s advisable to book ahead of time.
